#subtitles for morning walks 2 [10:01] Not too many flowering varieties. [10:01] No, not speaking of flowering. I mean to say varieties, plants [10:01] and creepers, two millions. Laksa-vimsati. Ten lakhs equal to one million, [10:01] and vimsati, twenty lakhs. [10:01] There was one newspaper article in the paper I was reading. [10:01] They were advertising a new book about the evolution of man. And they were [10:01] saying that there was approximately two million varieties of life on this [10:01] planet. This was the calculation of the scientists. [10:01] Two millions? No, 8,400,000. [10:01] You were saying the other day that all the species of life are [10:01] mentioned in the Padma-Purana. [10:01] Yes. [10:01] They're all given account of. [10:01] Only approximation. [10:01] An estimate. [break] [10:01] ...a drawing of the so-called missing link between the [10:01] evolution from ape to man. They have given one drawing of a species looking [10:01] like a man but hunched like an ape. And they're claiming this is... [10:01] Where they have got it? [10:01] ...that this type of personality was existing millions of years [10:01] ago. [break] [10:01] Of the 400,000 human species, what is the distinguishing [10:01] characteristic that makes one different from another? How could we [10:01] recognize them, or could we? [10:01] You have not seen varieties of men? [10:01] Yes. [10:01] Then, what is the... [10:01] Well is it divided by country or within one country there are many species? [10:01] You are taking of country, but the sastra takes of the planets, [10:01] not of the country. Your idea is very crippled: country, national. But [10:01] sastra is not... There is no such thing as national. They take the whole [10:01] universe as a whole. They consider from that angle of vision. These [10:01] crippled ideas, "state," "national," has come later on. There was no such [10:01] thing previously. One planet or universe, like that. Just like last night [10:01] the girl was astonished that "How this planet can be governed by one [10:01] king?" It was being actually done. And the whole universe is being [10:01] governed by Brahma, one person. So one must know how to govern. [10:01] We can see, Srila Prabhupada, by the distribution of wealth [10:01] and minerals in each loka, in each planet, it is meant to be governed by [10:01] one ruler. One place there is gold, one place grain to grow. Is this true? [10:01] No. Everywhere there is everything, maybe proportionately in [10:01] different quantities. [10:01] Is that governing that Brahma does in the universe, he does [10:01] that in relationship with all the other demigods like they are [10:01] departmental heads? So he is not personally directing every single thing. [10:01] Yes, he is given in charge. Just like we have got different [10:01] GBC's for different jobs. Similarly, they are doing their duty nicely. All [10:01] these planets are the different residential quarter of different demigods. [10:01] They are controlling the whole universal affairs. In comparison to them, [10:01] this human being is nothing. [10:01] Srila Prabhupada, if the human form is insignificant compared [10:01] to demigods, but still, it is very much desired, this human form of life, [10:01] even by the demigods? [10:01] Yes, because very good chance of realizing God in the human [10:01] form of life. Just like difference between Western countries and India. [10:01] India, a very quick chance of realization of God. The atmosphere is so [10:01] nice. So this planet is good for God realization, and the best place is in India. [10:01] Srila Prabhupada, you were saying yesterday that the rains, by [10:01] the rains all good things come, and the rains come because of good yajna. [10:01] So in this planet everybody is meat-eating, or in this country everybody [10:01] is performing sinful activities. [10:01] Therefore it is decreasing. The more you are becoming sinful, [10:01] the rain will decrease. [10:01] So it is decreasing now. [10:01] Yes. And at the end there will be no rain. Then this whole [10:01] planet will be ablaze with fire. That is the beginning of destruction. [10:01] If it rains heavily during daytime and at night you see the stars, [10:01] then you should know there will be scarcity of rain. There will be [10:01] scarcity of rain and scarcity of food grains. Best thing is at night there [10:01] must be heavy rain, and daytime, there should be sunshine. Then the field [10:01] will be very fertile. That is knowledge. But [10:01] they have no knowledge. They simply want to enjoy. They do not care for [10:01] death also. Simply sense gratification. That's all. This is called danava, [10:01] danava life. [10:01] They were simply approximating. They said from recent [10:01] discoveries and examination of fossils and like this... [10:01] That's all right. [10:01] ...they made their calculation. [10:01] Why there are varieties? [10:01] They say originally there was just a cell, and by adaptation in [10:01] some circumstances, one kind would live and another would die. So all [10:01] these varieties adapted to different conditions. [10:01] Who adapted this? Who managed? [10:01] Well they just... accidentally. [10:01] [10:01] Ah, that is nonsense. Nothing happens accidentally. That is [10:01] nonsense. There must be some arrangement. What is happening accidentally? [10:01] Why you are taking care of these trees? So many things. Nothing is done [10:01] accidentally. You do not see the cause. Why you are trying? Let [10:01] accidentally money come, and sit down. Why do they not do that? "If [10:01] accident is there, let accident come and I will become rich man." Why they [10:01] try? Why they go to the college? Let accidentally you become M.A., Ph D. [10:01] This is all rascaldom, simply poor thought. Poor thought. [10:01] Activity plus sanction of God, two things. There are five [10:01] causes. The activity, the place, the proportion of energy, and ultimately, [10:01] sanction by God. Then things happen. Otherwise there is no question of accident.
